Samsung Galaxy S10 5G launched: Key specs, price and availability

first_imgSamsung first announced the Galaxy S10 5G alongside the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e at its Unpacked 2019 event in February. This is Samsung first commercial 5G smartphone that packs a 5G chipset, quad camera setup and large 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED, among other things. The Galaxy S10 5G has now been launched with South Korea being the first market to get it starting Friday, April 5. Korean mobile operators will also start 5G services on that day.Samsung provides an end-to-end 5G solution from chipsets, network core, radio solutions and user devices. It sports a 6.7-inch Curved Dynamic AMOLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The handset is equipped with either the Snapdragon 855 with the X50 modem or Exynos 9820 chipset with Samsung’s in-house 5G modem depending on the market. This is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.The Galaxy S10 5G touts a quad camera setup that includes a 12MP wide-angle camera with Dual Aperture (f/1.5 to f/2.4) and OIS, a 12MP telephoto camera with PDAF, f/2.4 and OIS, a 16MP ultra wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 3D depth sensor as the fourth camera. The Galaxy S10 5G also gets dual selfie camera housed in the pill-shaped hole in the display. The front camera setup includes a 10MP Dual Pixel camera and a 3D depth camera.advertisementSamsung’s 5G smartphone measures 77.1 x 162.6 x 7.9mm and weighs 198 grams. It houses a large 4,500mAh battery with support for wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. The smartphone will ship with Android Pie with One UI on top. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (2.4/5GHz) and support for 1.2Gbps download and upload speeds.Samsung Galaxy S10 5G price and availabilityThe Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will reportedly cost KRW 1.39 million (approx Rs 85,000) for the 256GB version and KRW 1.55 million (approx Rs 95,000) for the 512GB variant, although Samsung has not yet revealed the official pricing. The Galaxy 5G will go on sale in Korea starting April 5 in Majestic Black, Royal Gold, Crown Silver colors.
