Clough unsure over future but admits interest in Nottingham Forest job

first_imgEmbed from Getty ImagesNigel Clough insisted he was unsure whether Burton’s 2-1 win at QPR will be his final match as Brewers boss – but admitted he is interested in a potential return to Nottingham Forest. Clough has been given permission to speak to Forest about the managerial vacancy at the City Ground, where he made his name as a player and his late father Brian achieved legendary status as manager.Asked if the victory at Loftus Road signalled the end of his second spell at Burton, Clough said: “I don’t know whether it is or not.“There’s been an approach and we’ll sit down in the next few days and talk about it.“I’m not going to be naive enough to suggest to you that I’m not interested in a club I’ve got such a long association with.“Burton means a lot to me too. Timing in football is never good – it stinks at times.“There’s lots to think about and lots to talk about over the next few days.“The most important thing was to not let it get in the way of what happened today. This game has been the priority all along.”Burton’s win was only their second in nine league matches and lifted them out of the relegation zone.Luke Murphy’s stunning strike gave them an early lead and Lloyd Dyer doubled their lead early in the second half before Conor Washington pulled a goal back for Rangers.“The players have been great in training as always – you saw the work-rate,” Clough added.“It was important to get out of the bottom three and we’ve done that.“This game today was so important for the club. Whatever happens in the next few days happens.”   Ads by Revcontent Trending Articles Urologists: Men, Forget the Blue Pill! Google Reveals AdSense Revenue Shares for Content, Search-based Ads

first_imgchris cameron Tags:#Google#web 8 Best WordPress Hosting Solutions on the Market Google finally revealed this morning just how much it takes as its share when advertisers buy ads on content and search inside AdSense. According to a release this morning on the AdSense blog, all publishers pocket 68% revenue for content ads and 51% for search ads, except for high profile publishers which negotiate their own shares. Google says they are revealing these numbers “in the spirit of greater transparency,” but what is the real motivation behind their decision?According to Search Engine Land writer Barry Schwartz, the transparency could be an effort to placate Italian anti-trust complaints which argued for revealing the revenue shares. Journalist, author and Google expert Jeff Jarvis made no mention of the Italian pressures in a blog post this morning, but did mention that he too had pressed the company to publish their ad splits earlier this year.Google says its cut for content and search ads goes toward the “costs for our continued investment in AdSense — including the development of new technologies, products and features that help maximize the earnings you generate from these ads.” These costs are yet to be solidified for their other AdSense offerings, such as mobile applications, feeds, games and YouTube ads, and thus these splits were not revealed today. Portuguese competition regulator the Autoridade da

first_imgPortuguese competition regulator the Autoridade da Concorrência (AdC) has opened an in-depth investigation into Altice’s planned acquisition of the country’s leading broadcaster and media group Media Capital. The AdC said that, based on the evidence gathered so far, there were strong indications that the deal will give rise “significant impediments” to competition in “several markets”, including audiovisual content production and competition between TV channels in the advertising market, as well as the telecom and pay TV markets. The regulator said that the merger would also likely have a significant negative impact on the creation of new TV content and on the business case for new online TV services. The AdC had previously opened a consultation, asking for comments from interested parties including telecom and media rivals NOS, Vodafone, Impresa, ARTelecom, Nowo and Cofina, which was extended on request. The watchdog said that it could prohibit the merger if it considered it likely to “create significant impediments to effective competition”.Altice’s planned acquisition of Media Capital, which owns producer Plural Entertainment and the TVI channels as well as a number of radio stations, has proved highly controversial in Portugal, with rival players and communications regulator ANACOM calling for the deal to be scrapped.Altice for its part has engaged in a concerted charm offensive, committing to invest in fibre infrastructure, 5G mobile infrastructure and content investment, as well as undertaking major philanthropic initiatives, as part of an effort to secure approval.last_img read more
